First time there my wife looked it up as we were waiting for my daughter. Food was wonderful and the staff was very polite and friendly. Will definitely be going back the next time we are in town.
Took our daughter and fiancee to Mikes tonight for her birthday. We had the fried zucchini and the mozzarella sticks, which were yummy. I had the special ZUPPA Tuscana, soup and garlic toast. Oh my goodness so good . My husband had the pot roast, our daughter had the ribeye and a cup of the soup and her fiancé had a chimichurri surf and turf. We all gave the chef an A+ for yummy food. There's never a doubt that you're not gonna have fabulous service from whoever waits on you. We had Miss Taylor, of course Morgan the other two Gals, Luke and Kyle had to come by and say hi. The atmosphere is so welcoming you just don't wanna leave. One of the chefs even came by to see how we liked everything. I keep saying and I'm gonna keep saying this is definitely home away from home. I must for everyone.
This restaurant was terrific from the service to the food. We were in town for a softball tournament and wanted a good sit-down dinner. Mike's menu seemed to have something to please everyone. It was a Saturday night so we expected a bit of a wait. Sure enough there were people waiting, but things seemed to be moving quickly. We were soon seated and knew what to order. We were a table of four. We got the filet, spicy chicken pasta, fettuccine Alfredo, and blackened mahi mahi. I loved seeing mahi mahi on the menu because it's a rare find at restaurants. The dish sizes were perfect. Everyone loved their dish and finished it all up. We didn't have room for dessert. The entire staff was very friendly. The owner or manager greeted us very nicely and even checked in on us by name halfway through our meal. Our waters were always being refilled and we were being checked on throughout the night. I think Mike should think about expanding his establishment. It's a great one and seemed to be popular.
Clean and great ambiance. Food was outstanding service was excellent prices were great. We will definitely be returning
The Great Gal and I enjoyed a nice lunch at Mike's Grillhouse in Modesto. Service by Kyle was absolutely superb. We split a yum Patty Melt with great fries. Also, had a cup of clam chowder, which we both felt was too thick, allowing the taste of the flour thickener to dominate the flavor of the clams. Kyle very graciously accepted these comments. The restaurant was absolutely packed attesting to its popularity. We will definitely drop in again when trekking to Modesto. FYI - Alcohol here is beer and wine only.
This was my 4th time and every time I come it's amazing! Food is always so good but the service is great too. Usually going a few times things can slip or may not be consistent but not here! Mikes Grillhouse is clean, great food and even better service.
I ALMOST gave this place a 5 star review until we got the tab. My mom and I decided to stop for a quick light lunch and decided to share a plate since we weren't too hungry. We shared a chicken Caesar wrap and decided to share it since again we weren't too hungry. The wrap overall was good, fries were tasty. The staff was honestly killing it. They were helping everyone and always had great service. I'm more disappointed and surprised with the $4 charge for splitting an item... that seems ridiculous to me... mostly when it's not on the menu to even give us a heads up.
Mike's is a great place to have lunch or dinner. We were there for dinner. They also have take out and likely delivery. The place is spotless. It is also comfortable and not too loud. The bathrooms are nice and the entire place is well kept up. The service was fast and friendly. You are not rushed, but they will check on you, which is great. We ordered several things and loved them all. We had a few of their starters. We loved the crab cakes. It has roasted red pepper aioli and a side of mango salsa. So tasty. We also tried their sautéed scallops which comes with some lovely French bread. We moved on to a Southern steak salad, which was wonderful and could be a whole meal. It has chopped romaine, grilled sirloin steak, shredded cheddar, tomatoes, crispy onion strings, and cabbage blend, with a spicy ranch dressing. It was not too spicy and they cooked the steak the way I wanted it. Their Mandurian chicken salad was my favorite. It has romaine, mandarin oranges, grilled chicken, wonton strips and cabbage in a tasty mandarin dressing. For our mains we had a wonderful chicken penne with a real good Cajun seasoning with parmesan sauce. Needs a little more chicken, but it was very good. Their fish and chips were perfect. The fish batter was so perfect, cooked just right and we loved the fries. We finished sharing a chocolate brownie with a wonderful served ala mode with whip cream, chocolate and raspberry sauce. The raspberry sauce was ever so good. We loved it all and will be back.
Came here with my co-workers on a Tuesday afternoon for our team lunch and it was great! Amazing service and the food was delicious! We ordered a few appetizers and all ordered an entree each. Appetizers: shrimp skewers and fried zucchini Entree: spicy Hamilton chicken penne and the rest of the team ordered burgers. Appetizers came out quickly and were delicious. The shrimps were large and juicy. The sauce was not too overpowering and light enough for our team to share. The fried zucchini were my favorite. It was not overly breaded and came with two sauces: ranch and marinara. I ordered the spicy Hamilton chicken penne since it was a fan favorite on Yelp and it was really good. It wasn't too spicy and had a lot of grilled chicken in my dish. The pasta was also cooked nicely as it was not too al dente. Ambiance is more dimmed and the AC was on full blast since it was 100 degrees outside.
